Rating: Amazingly beautiful venue 9/12/2024

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to provide entertainment at this venue. I was blown away after walking in and seeing how beautiful it is. We setup 18 LED wireless uplights in the room and it just enhanced the venue’s beauty even more. This venue, nested down in Manteo, will be a hot spot for weddings and other events.

Upon visiting Manteo for the first time in 7 years I was pleasantly suprised to see it grow into the charming village that it has become. While the rest of the Outer Banks has seemed to have lost its charming old beach atmousphere, Manteo has succeeded in adding it to theirs. The old Claras Restaurant is now the Waterfront Trellis and what a wonderful meal my family and I had. The service was great and the atmosphere was wonderful. The views of the sound and the sail boats makes this restaurant one of the most pleasant dining experiences we have had during our return trip. May I suggest the Crab and Wild Mushroom Cheescake. It was delicious. We were seated promptly and our food came in a timly manner and HOT. When we heard they owned an oceanfront restaurant in KDH we decided to try it as well. The Oceanfront Trellis at the Sea Ranch Hotel was just as wonderful if not even better. The oceanfront views were outstanding and the food was just as good. Good job Waterfront and Oceanfront Trellises.

We had a reservation for 8 people, but still had to wait at least 20 mins so that the table could be set (which seemed to take forever since they appeared to be understaffed), and the service was a bit slow (plus we had to ask for plates, glasses to be cleared). But the vineyard themed atmosphere is very charming and the view of the waterfront marina is great (even though the A/C didn't seem to be working properly that night). The food was both creative and delicious. We especially enjoyed the pecan crusted pork chops, filet oscar and the shrimp stuffed with gouda and crab. Unfortunately, the dessert menu was disappointing, too few selections and all except one were a cake. Note that they don't serve mixed drinks (decent wine list though) nor do they take AMEX.
