We've stayed at this motel three or four times and have always been very happy. We've spent a long weekend here and also stayed for one or two nights before our long week in our rental on Hatteras Island. The rooms are clean and have all of the ameneties we've ever needed (microwave, minifridge, etc.). We have always stayed in one of the regular rooms, but they also offer efficiencies, and cute little two room cottages with full kitchens. We first stayed there when the former owners (Brenda and Jimmy) were still there. Brenda and Jimmy also own T.I.'s Tackle Shop. Brenda and Jimmy have retired. The new motel owners seem to have remodeled the motel slightly which has been very nice, but do not seem to have the "down homeyness" that Brenda and Jimmy brought to the place. Last year the Traveler's Inn was booked and we had to stay at the Dolphin Motel for one night before heading to our rental in Avon. Never again! The Traveler's Inn is head and shoulders above the Dolphin Motel.
