We have stayed at the Colonial Inn since 2002. It is not the most modern motel,but renovations have been made over the past few years since new ownership/management has taken over. The housecleaning staff is great-many have been there the entire time that we( our family of 5) have been there, and ask about the grown children when they don't come with us. The parking leaves a lot to be desired if you have a larger vehicle, and the overflow parking is not close by, but the proximity to the beach, and having a pool are pluses. We also have a kitchen that helps with the expenses while we are there, although we do eat out for several meals. The Colonial Inn is next door to the Nags Head Pier, and close to other restaurants, shopping opportunities, and sightseeing jaunts. We really count ourselves fortunate to be able to go to the Colonial Inn year after year.
