It seems like there is a lot more traffic here in Kitty Hawk and Southern Shores than a few weeks ago. I am thinking it is a lot of owners that came to close up for the winter and are leaving today (Sunday). When I rented, before living here, we used to come at Thanksgiving to winterize the house too.
I'm just thinking that more and more folks are learning just how special a sand bar Thanksgiving can be....especially if one was here last Weds and/or for Kites w Lights. There, my opinion, is soooo much more going on these days, versus, say even 10 years ago.

Our neighborhood here between the highways in Nags Head, and the OF houses here, were very busy this past week.
We get a lot of fall traffic. In years past on Hatteras is was the fishing tournaments and later duck hunters that carried the fall now it seems to be couples that want a fall getaway. We still get the outdoors crowd but the demographic has changed.

Sounded like....tradition. (;
