Found this on the beach today. No idea what it is, google pic search gives a different result with each pic. Thoughts?

Interesting. Old shell casing fragment maybe?? Shell as in ammunition.

I don’t think so. Its texture leads me to believe it’s clay or some sort of stone.

I don’t think so. Its texture leads me to believe it’s clay or some sort of stone. rlaxn Maybe some type of Native American pottery piece. Part of a bottle perhaps given the shape. You may really have something significant. Cool!

I think it’s part of the neck of clay flask type thing. Probably pretty old and had a clay stopper at the top when it was new.I’d put it on Marketplace and say it was part of Blackbeard’s personal rum mini keg!

Looks like the skeleton of a pipe coral. AKA sponge pipe coral or stove pipe coral.

I think it is very cool and so glad she found it. She should put it in a shadow box and display! I feel that it is vintage pottery after her description. You two gentlemen are probably exactly right about what it is.
