Helicopters Over Beach

I do not know exactly what these were....I'm guessing from Norfolk, but they could not have been over 100 feet over me on HI. So very impressive and loud. I was talking to my daughter on the phone and she heard them.

This stuff just is the best!

Another a little closer up.

I could have thrown a rock and hit it as it was so close.

I did not zoom in at all.

RE: Helicopters Over Beach

They came over here in SNH yesterday morning real early (1am) and yesterday afternoon.
They were loud and low!
Very cool!

RE: Helicopters Over Beach

They came by me in Kitty twice yesterday. They came south down the beach and over the ocean at maybe 100ft (legal over the water) and they circled the monument and went back north over land at 500+ ft. FAA rules are minimum of 500 ft over people and even the Army follows the rules, most of the time. Those were Army Blackhawks. They all had refueling probes so they must have been special ops Blackhawks.

Anyone know why they are doing this? We had it last summer too. They vibrated the house last night around 11:30 ish going back. Fun to watch but too low!

RE: Helicopters Over Beach

I saw them yesterday and the day before in SNH. The first one in the group was so low I couldn't see it as it flew past houses.

RE: Helicopters Over Beach

They must be training

RE: Helicopters Over Beach

Here's another cool pic of them heading south towards Hatteras Village.

The Sound of Freedom.

All Black? Night Stalkers maybe?

RE: Helicopters Over Beach

Cool.

When we're at Topsail the jarheads out of MCAS New River are constantly overhead in their CH-53s, AH-1s and Osprey's.

I’ve been trying all week to get a picture of them, they’re so low it’s hard to drop everything and get outside to take the picture. They’re gone by the time I find my phone. It’s been fun to see them. I hope it continues this week.
