Hatteras Pole Road trip today

Hubby and sis in law in and I headed down the treacherous pole road today so that hubby would stop my whining to go down there as it is quite fluffy for the drive! The truck made it very easily and, man, it was all that I have dreamed of!!!! My 83 year old sis in law said it was her best trip on the beach and absolutely loved it! She found a fab piece of driftwood and we just loved the scenery. Like another country!

Nice day! Plus, you don’t ORV pass on the pole road.

I was blown away by the beauty today! It is so cool at the inlet! It was sooo big! My sis in law is not steady on her feet therefore I was watching closely to make sure she didn't fall.

Saw a bunch of surfers today that knew their stuff! We didn't drive to the very end as there was a lot of water and hubby thought it could be sea water. (Don't want to drive the Tundra through sea water!! God forbid!) You never know. Made it a couple of miles and pulled off before the very end. A lot of nice people and saw some VA people which we loved, of course. Two really cute guys about my son's age setting up to fish around 4:30 pm. The inlet is soooo wide! I found no sea glass, but scored on a beautiful piece of driftwood, some olive shells, and some angel wings as I call them which will work with my beach art. I also found a huge rock shaped like a heart which is the bomb! I'll use the driftwood which was kinda scooped out and will use it for a succulent planter! It was gorgeous.

Edit: I walked five miles today! Def burned off the two Coronas I drank on the beach between walks!
