Believe the lady and I are going to make a long weekend trip to Buxton this weekend. Will have a rod or 3 with me but she is all about the shells. Other than the point, any good shelling locations? She can find shells while I am eating an Apple Ugly!
You might be shelling with the wife, Orange Blossom is closed for the season.

If shelling is REALLY the goal, try to get over to Portsmouth Island. I don't think any of the tours are running now though, so it might be hard to find a ride.Hope you have a great time! We'll be in Hatteras Village the last week of May. Might try to get back to Portsmouth.

She can find shells while I am eating an Apple Ugly! Sounds fun! Yes...you are correct on the point for shells. I would also mention ramp 49 in Frisco. When we were there a couple of weeks ago, I found seven pieces of sea glass in one day within an hour! A lot of nice whitish pieces of driftwood and one whole whelk. Several olive shells too were scooped up. You may want to venture down to Sandy Bay on the soundside in Hatteras and look for driftwood. We have found some nice pieces there. Parking is great there and it is so beautiful! You guys have a great time!!!!
To me this is such an awesome time of year to do it. These clear winter days are just the best out here with no bugs or crowds. Hope you get good weather!
