Anyone know where to get a cake on Hatteras? Both Scratchmade Snackery and Island Bakery in Avon aren’t doing cakes. Last year we got an amazing cake from Island but they don’t answer the phone or return messages. We will be in Hatteras Village but willing to drive for quality.

The one cake is for her husband who will be 84, so he gets a nice cake each year.
Island Bakery is booked up for custom cakes for the year, but they do usually have cakes in the case if you stop in, and they can write on it for you. I believe they are closed temporarily for employee vacation though, hence why they didnt answer the phone. Their email is islandbakery.avon@gmail.com.

An update to this thread, Island Bakery in Avon is out of business as of this afternoon. The cake my friends bought for my birthday was the last cake. For my friend’s 84th birthday his wife got a very nice cake at Muffins & Scones. Taste was wonderful but it wasn’t decorated the way she asked for.
