Happy Birthday wishes to my friend Jack Sandberg who celebrates number 92 today. For the uninformed Jack was the long time proprietor of the Yellowhouse Gallery and a resident of S. Nags Head. He was also a columnist for various OB publications and had his own blog published on this site for many years that is still available for reading. He had a tradition for years of posting a daily sunrise photo. He is a wonderful guy with great stories of the OB in times past. He was never afraid to speak up and often did not toe the line on issues. I’m happy to report he is well and healthy and living with family in Maryland. He told me this morning he plans to have a Boddingtons to celebrate.

Well said Mike. Had the pleasure twice of talking to Jack at the Yellowhouse.....quite the character. Glad to hear he is doing well. Thanks for the update. Probably not many posters here now know of Jack.

We met Uncle Jack and Mrs Uncle Jack when we bought house in south Nags Head. The nicest couple! Our house was on the next street over from theirs. They had a cute mini Cooper and a garage with a Mini sign on it. Happy Birthday!

Oh! You’ve brought back memories of the beautiful diptych that my parents bought from Uncle Jack at the Yellowhouse so many years ago. It hung in the great room of their home in Nags Head. I wish I had taken a picture of it before the house got sold.

Happy Birthday Uncle Jack! I have had the pleasure of visiting the Yellowhouse on many occasion and speaking with you and Mrs. Jack. It was a great place and the prints we bought still hang on our walls. I'm so happy to hear you are doing well.

I have my signed copy of Uncle Jacks Ultimate Collection around here somewhere. I was a young kid when I meet him and his larger then life personality left an impression. Happy Birthday
