Seriously...and I bet this is their first time trying it too. Don't drink and fry!

RE: Oh No - what's next?

That's the same setup I use for a low country boil (seafood boil). Perfectly safe and very yummy. You should ask if your invited!

That’s what I thought, then I saw the box of oil behind her.

Is that a big bottle of oil? It looks like an “i” and an “l”
Is the woman’s leg blocking the “o”?
Hard to tell.

At least these people have enough sense to have the fryer away from the house (although a bit further away would be better).

RE: Oh No - what's next?

Who the heck eats a whole turkey in July?

RE: Oh No - what's next?

You know what’s really creepy? Peeping neighbors, surreptitious photography, posting online without permission, widespread speculation about menu items and the proficiency of the people who have had their privacy violated….. Surely there is a follow-up post coming to update us all on the catastrophe that did not happen. I suppose an apology, directly to the people you spied on, would be out of the question….

You think I need your permission to post a photo of you? Not if said photo was taken from a public space. Additionally if you are out, let’s say on a beach or other public space, you are fair game.

Good catch.

Frying anything in that garbage is a waste of good food. Thumbs down

RE: Oh No - what's next?

At least they are outside!

RE: Oh No - what's next?

Looks like canola oil to me.

Okay, let's put cold turkey in hot oil while wearing sandals. What could possibly go wrong?

No faces were used in the making of this pic. Not listening

RE: Oh No - what's next?

Im a newbie rental owner…..I was thinking of leaving a setup like that for renters for a seafood boil (love boiled lobsters), but decided not to. Glad I made that decision. I also can’t imagine why someone would want to fry a turkey in the summer at a beach house, but to each their own. I’m going to ask my PM if they could include language in the lease agreement preventing hot oil friers . I probably can’t stop renters, just hope they do it safe.

Imagine that! Someone enjoying their vacation

Good for them.

I thought it too would be a turkey but it wasn't. It looked lots lots and lots of potatoes cut into long pieces, boiled in canola oil.

RE: Oh No - what's next?

Seriously, I've done the same for about 10 years now. We make French Fries in our turkey fryer and chicken wings. You all should not be so quick to judge others. I've also fried many turkeys at home for Thanksgivings without any issues. If someone knows how to properly use a turkey fryer and keeps it away from the house, its not really a big deal. My god, let people enjoy their vacation.

They are actually standing on "my" lot. Once past the rock it is my lot, so I was watching. They seem like a nice group. I just had never seen so many potatoes cooked that way.

We do a seafood boil using a 21 quart canning pot that we bought at Walmart. Also good for corn. We have always used a stove.

Is that a gutter drain up against the electrical panel for the mini split outdoor unit?

EDIT: I guess the outdoor unit is set away from the house. Ours is 12"-18" or whatever code is... forgot about that.

RE: Oh No - what's next?

If y'all are only concentrated on the turkey fryer, you'll miss the best part of the photo. Wink smiley

That part was probably zoomed, but not shared....

Did you yell out: "Get off my lawn?"

RE: Oh No - what's next?

I was in Billy's Seafood checking out their fresh fish as a lady was asking how to cook crabs in a deep fryer. Maybe that's what they were up to. Thumbs up
