As we are aware...Outer Banks is a hot destination

RE: As we are aware...Outer Banks is a hot destination

This explains why the houses are filling up so fast. My in-laws are terrible about committing to anything. They're bad about saying a month before the summer, okay when are we going to the beach? Last Summer by the time they decided for sure they decided to actually wanted to get a house at the same time we were going to be there, about the only place left was about the dumpiest little cottage imaginable. For this upcoming summer, they're shut out. No offense to the local businesses who enjoy it, I would prefer if my favorite place wasn't quite so popular!

I'd be interested in what's near the bottom of that list.

J4yDubs

That would be Trenton or Camden NJ LOL

Probably why rentals went up in price and the pickings are very slim this year. We have been waiting for friends to commit finally we decided to just book by ourselves.

Anywhere USA has got to be better than anywhere in Jersey!! Including the Jersey shore.
(And I’ve lived here my whole life!)
At least I’m in Salem County where there’s a little tiny bit of sanity

Surprised that Austin is that high.

I have travelled to Austin a lot for work having once worked for Dell. While I loved my time and the BBQ there, it never dawned on me to vacation there.

Great Wolf Lodge is a curious one also since it's a chain and is all over the place.

J4yDubs

Agree, very confusing that a chain is in the list instead of a specific place. WHICH Great Wolf??

Remember the old quote - Follow The Money. I bet an ad campaign comes up with that stuff. Best anything is subjective.

Upstate Jersey is pretty nice, if you like nature. Some beautiful spots for sure.

Avalon NJ just south of the bird sanctuary was where my aunt and uncle had a house. The area was nice but the neighbors were mostly jerks. If you didn't have a beach badge pinned on you, the old farts would ask you where you were staying.

No problem. Please stay there.

I lived in central NJ 1986 - 2003. Liked it a lot.

The town I lived in the last nine years there was 107 people per square mile. No police force. State police coverage. Really nice. House on three acres.

My town in MA is 1,700 people per square mile.

I get Disney and OBX but I find Yellowstone by twice as much an odd choice. Any chance those answering mean Yellowstone with Kevin Costner vs the National State Park. Wink smiley

We went to Yellowstone in the summer of 2019 and it was really crowded, depending on where you were.

J4yDubs

Yep, both Yellowstone and Outer Banks are popular destinations and are elevated on the list because of television show searches as this source compiled search data, not travel/destination search data.
