As my first week comes to a close I thought it appropriate to take some time and reflect. I like Avon. This is a nice place. I like it better than the tri villages, although that perspective may be colored by the fact that I was soundfront after Dorian where this time I’m semi OF. This house is nicer than the soundfront one in Rodanthe.
No mosquito issue here.
I won’t even try to compare Avon to Corolla. Two different places, each lovely in their own way. Each with their pros and cons.
I will say given the weather this week, I think Corolla would have had more to do other than day drink and cook at the house. I’m fine with day drinking and cooking at the house but after 4 days of that, it got a little boring. Having a place like TimBuk II would have been nice.
I like how rowdy Avon is. With the houses blasting music and partying during a wicked thunderstorm. I’ve never seen that in Corolla. Gives this place character. Much more of a party town down here.
Beaches are comparable. We didn’t hit a ramp, and honestly don’t intend to. The community beach access is what we used in the few short breaks in between storms. But I wouldn’t say this section of Avon and Pine Island have much difference in beach conditions.
Masking out indoors in public was 100% except for the super wings and the food lion. Conner’s was 100% and much much less crowded. If you’re gonna catch covid down here, it’ll prolly be from dining inside in a restaurant or from the Food lion.
I won’t name names, but places that on their website say their bar is closed....the bar is very much not closed.
Anyway, I’m a little tired from today, I’ll upload the last of the Mace pictures and try to get some rest. I’ve got a long day tomorrow, and we shall see how house number two looks.
