I am not in the loop for many places, that is one. Winks, Kmart, Applebees(and what came after it) Kelly's are some of the other places I am not sure about.
Townebank bought the Times Printing building in 2015.

RE: Tim, what do your tea leaves say?

I was told it was to be gas pumps that will be part of Harris Teeter.

Great, I was worried it would be something we don't need more of. Sad smiley

I wasn't expecting gas pumps. The parent company of Harris Teeter is Kroger and a quick internet service reveals Kroger operates fuel centers. Looks like the closest are in Virginia Beach. Stay tuned. Car

There are in Chesapeake. One is on Mt. Pleasant.

I hope it is gas pumps. Last year we accumulated points toward gas and tried to use them where we were told they would work. They didn't.

I've never noticed them. Are they like a Wawa with a retail & food store or just pumps like Sam's Club?

They don't make it as easy as getting a 5 cent discount at QP. The BP in Southern Shores will give the discount, I usually save 10-30 cents per gallon there.

There seems to be some activity about to start at Rt 168 and The Woods Rd in Kitty Hawk just as you come over the bridge. There is an old gas station there and there was talk of a WaWa going there. We should have plenty of gas smiley with shades

Having lived through the Arab oil embargo of 1973 I say you can never have enough gas! Car What a PITA that was!

I was in college that year and had a bicycle and no car so I never really noticed. I lived in a town in Mid Illinois that had three refineries 5 miles away so maybe we had more gas than other areas.

It is like a Walmart setup. Grocery store with Kroger gas pumps out in the parking lot.

Thanks, maybe it will bring some much need price competition IMO.

Are there any Wawas in NC? I thought VA was the furthest south they went, until you got to FL.

There has been talk of one maybe coming to The Woods Rd and Rt 168 just as you come over the WBM Bridge in Kitty Hawk. There looks to be some activity getting ready to do something there soon. There was a gas station there for many years.

RE: Tim, what do your tea leaves say?

We really miss the book store. It was always one of our stops. Found some real treasures there.

It's going to be a Sheetz gas station if I recall correctly. Same thing as a Wawa basically.

Wawa is opening in Gainesville, Florida any day now...

The closest one is at the bypass for the toll gate on the rt 168 toll road. That is Virginia.

Sheetz or WaWa are close enough to be the same to me. I wonder what that will do to Saturday traffic?

I was born and raised on Wawa and live in Sheetz country.

Personally I would be pulling for it to be a Sheetz rather than a Wawa.

RE: Tim, what do your tea leaves say?

It’s Wawa not WaWa, just like its Realtor not realtor

Gotta agree. WaWa is a big deal around here, but I don't understand why. SHeeTZ would be more interesting, but probably wouldn't get the traffic of a WaWa. These things are ALWAYS packed, so they are doing something right.

John

RE: Tim, what do your tea leaves say?

Many people prefer WAWA coffee over others

RE: Tim, what do your tea leaves say?

Mike is like a truffle pig for that particular spelling correction.
