The wife was the easy sell. You're right mom took more convincing. I was able to convince her because the house is smaller, it's only 5 bedrooms, but it has everything we need. It's pet-friendly, oceanfront, literally sitting basically right on the water, has the private pool, and has an elevator.
Mom really enjoyed the beach campfires and being right on the water means that we can do that activity more than once since it won't involve packing up the cars with a bunch of supplies, driving up to ramp 25, unloading, setting all the gear up, and then tearing back down to get back to the house.
Since it won't be post-hurricane hopefully the mosquitoes won't be awful. 100+ mosquito bites per person was not a good time.
Anything we were looking at in Corolla was going to be 5k+ for the week. We were able to get this for a little under 3k.
1500$ from her and 1500$ from me really helped seal the deal. Plus Duck and Corolla are only about an hour's drive away. She can day trip up as much as she wants.
