Going to be totally redoing a bedroom into man cave. Where is best place to advertise furniture for sale or donate to good cause?

Look for Yard sales in Facebook for your area also Craig's list too for your area

It would help to know where the OP and furniture are located. If the furniture in in Charleston you can call the Salvation Army or Goodwill. Around here they and a few other places will send a truck to your home to pick up the furniture. A big problem here is people dropping off junk after hours that the charities then have to pay to have hauled off.

Upscale Resale - You will drive by the store coming and going to OBX. Most importantly, they will come and take your stuff. Then when it sells, you'll get some money for it. We replaced sofas a few years ago at our Corolla home. They picked up the sofas, and one sold quickly, and the other sold a couple months later. But it immediately cleared the way for the new sofas.

To donate, the second place Paul mentioned is familiar to me and has a good reputation: https://www.obhotline.org/hotline-thrift-stores/ To sell, if you prefer to have someone else do it for you - then UpScale Resale in Powells Point is supposed to be good. Here's their website:http://www.upscalefurnitureresales.com I've been in there twice just to see what's what, but now know that I can use their website for seeing what's new. They have a good reputation, as well, according to my "sources".

I listed and sold 2 furniture sets on Facebook Outer Banks Yard Sale site in record time this weekend! Highly recommend using Facebook. I listed them around 8pm on Friday night, had buyers for both in about 5 minutes after posting. No haggling on price at all. Both sets were picked up by 8:30 am on Saturday. I will never use Craigslist or any other sale site ever again.

Depending on what it is, and if it's on the Outer Banks … consider donating it to one of the lifeguard houses. We gave a sofa, loveseat, and chair to three different lifeguards when we bought new furniture.
