Anyone know what this is???

While vacationing in the OBX this washed up on the beach. Every morning my husband goes for a long walk on the beach and he always picks up trash. He came back and he laid this on the picnic table. Of course my response was...."What is that"? He said "Its a piece of the space shuttle Challenger. Well...needless to say we laughed at him the whole entire trip. And, he laughed with us...but, kept saying...that is what it was. Yea...right. LOL When I got home I hit the internet trying to find out what it was.

Yes we still have it. It looks like it would be real heavy. But, it is as light as a feather.

Could be apart of a military target drone or a part on an external booster from another rocket.
...and welcome . I used to go through Sabillasville often on my way to Ft Detrick and Camp David

I have no idea what that is, but I'd post this in the main forum. It'll get more eye balls there.
