We've seen it a few times. It was actually an assignment of my wife's for a nutrition class.
I can only speak from personal experience; but I just lost over 60 pounds in about 13 weeks. Although I didn't cut all animal proteins, I did limit them and almost instantly felt better. I saw similar results in measurable tests, and have kept the weight off easily with eating clean. I eat more now than I ever have. I applied the "if it doesn't come out of the ground, don't eat it" policy, and it has turned my health around 180 degrees. I weighed 253 on Sept 7, this morning I weighed 190.4 (and I've been eating some sweets lately...blasted holidays).
