Diets starting November 1st Who's with US

Was talking to OBX Nut on facebook last night. We have decided to start with our diets then. I plan on doing a low carb diet. High cholesterol, hypothyroid, family history of heart disease and diabeties, arthritis are some of the reasons. Know it is possible for me to lose it. I lost around 65lb 7years ago and kept it off for 2 years. But stress in the workplace was not good to my body. Plus falling at work in June 2011 and hurting my back which still is causing problems. So I gained almost all of it back. Know that the weight I lost to before was too much loss. If I go to BMI of 25 for me it is not healthly. Looked sick and kids doctor was telling me not to lose even down to it but I did. I need to lose 50-60 lbs to be where I want to be. So who is with us. Lets get started together than we will have buddies to talk too.

Looks like its just me and you. I have a couple of modifed low carb recipes I thought you might like. Hamburger Soup 1lb ground beef 2 cups shredded carrots (I leave these out) 1 lrg can v8 juice 1 lrg onion 2 can cream of celery soup Brown ground beef and onion in skillet. Drain grease. Add carrots and simmer for 5 minutes. Pour into pot add celery soup and v8 juice Cheeseburger Skillet 1 1/2 lbs ground beef 1/4 green pepper chopped 1 diced onion 1 jar pizza sauce 1 lb sausage 1pkg shredded cheese brown ground beef and sausage in skillet then mix in peppers, onions and pizza sauce with groundbeef cover with cheese. Simmer for about 15 minutes Meatloaf with cheese 2-2 1/2 lbs ground chuck 1/2 pkg shredded mozarella cheese 1/4 green pepper chopped 1 small onion chopped 1 small can tomato sauce 2 tbsp a1 sauce salt & pepper add A1 to tomato sauce mix all ingrdients together and bake for 350 degrees for about 1 hour 15 minutes

Gals, I'd love to join in as a internet support dieter...dream of being thinner (like I was when I was younger!), healthier, and more energetic...have delayed the diet due to several personal stress factors, but a fresh start on 11/1 sounds very doable to me! pat

Ok Ok...I wil try this again after a few weeks of no weigh ins and feeling out of control. I weigh in at WW's on Tuesdays so its a restart for me!! Lets do this!!!!!

Tomorrow is the day. Here is to success for all of us.:martini_shaken:We can do this. What food are you going to miss the most if any? Potatoes for me. Loved baked and fried. Here is a recipe for some to try:

Flourless low-sugar Peanut Butter Cookies

1 cup peanut butter (regular peanut butter has some sugar, can make with natural no sugar also)
1 large egg
1 cup splenda

Mix, roll in balls, flatten with fork, bake at 350 Check around 8 min can burn.

Hello Ladies. I started my diet this morning with a weigh-in. I have over endulged in Halloween candy the past fews days so my beginning weight was 173.0 :mad: Breakfast-Small thin NY strip Lunch-Small thin NY strip & 1 fried egg Snack-Coffee with splenda and 2tbsp of 1/2 & 1/2 Dinner-Meatloaf Skillet (ground beef fried with chopped peppers and onions drain grease and top with low carb ketchup) Taste just like a meatloaf May have some low carb pumpkin pie mousse:smiley41: (a couple tablespoons of pumpkin with 1-2oz of cream cheese, 1 packet of splenda and pumpkin pie spice warmed in the microwave) later if I get hungry.

Ladies, I started this morning with a weigh-in also.:smiley53::shock::mad: Too many sweets, white bread, and potatoes. I have at least 50 no more than 60 lbs to lose. Know that I really didnt eat enough today will do better tomorrow.
Breakfast- Nothing this morning(I know bad bad)
Lunch- meat and veggies from a taco and a XXL chalupa no shells.
Supper- Hot ham and cheese on wheat bread
Snack-2 slices cheese

Starting day 2 of lowcarbing. Weight this morning 171.5 down 1.5 pounds put a Butterball turkey roast in the crockpot this morning before I went to work to have for dinner. Probably will have the skillet meatloaf for lunch and eggs & bacon for breakfast.

You folks need to just push away from the table while U still can...Or burn off the cals with exercise...It's nice to dream butt sometimes U have to "Just Do IT" if not for UR self, think of your family (or Pets)...I'll B okay as soon as I polish off all these leftover "Fun" size halloween candy bars, they're just too much fun :wink:

Okay now you just sound like my husband "Be like me and eat anything you want and if you want to lose weight walk up and down this hill a few times everyday". I weigh about 20 pounds more than him :smiley40:

Down 2.0 more pounds this morning. A total of 3.5 pounds lost. Weight 169.5. I felt nauseous yesterday evening and wanted some saltine crackers so at ate about 6 of them for dinner. Trying to low carb as long as I can. I can't wait to get back in the 150's.

Sometimes when you cut alot of carbs. The body acts like it is getting sick. Think it is a kind of shock to the system. Thinks we are starving it. When you are actually trying to regulate the insulin spikes it has been having. Good Luck tomorrow. Dont think I have been eating enough. Hope to do better tomorrow. Definely cut my carbs down to what I had been having.

I think you may be pregnant....Normally ya get sick in the morning, but as ya get older, I'm told, ya get the symptoms in the evening..JustSay'n :smiley40:

Feeling nauseous, or weak can be a symptom of low blood pressure also. If you've cut all the salt, you may want to add a pinch in with each meal. It really helped me ;)

I am on the stress diet lately. That is the only thing that makes me not want to eat. Unless it backfires and I eat lots of chocolate.

Weighed in this morning and I lost 2 pounds since last Monday. I was hoping for more but I shouldn't complain it was a loss not a gain for the week. Going to exercise more and try to log everything I eat. I hoping for a loss of at least 3 pounds next week. I had dropped 3.5 pounds went over my calorie limits the weekend and it showed on the scales.

Bah, humbug...lots of personal issues bled over into Nov and I didn't start on time...NOW, I am back in a better "mental state" and so tomorrow I will start...a tad later than you all!! Hoping to lose 80 pounds, so it's a long road back to the thinner person I was in my youth...but I will try once again!!! (with all my OBX friends!!!), and maybe one day I will post my picture as an avatar, rather than pics of my gals!!! smiley smiley smiley

Hi i know i'm not on time with your start date but can i join as well , but honestly dont want to post my weight ,, seriously, lets just say i have lots to lose, that being said are all of you on low carb ? The last time i tried that i was so weak for like 2 wks, although my weight came off i lost like 40 lbs and kept it off for over 2 yrs, I worry bout doing that again so maybe i'll do the point system of an old ww book i have, but keep a diary of food eaten.Is anyone on this living here ? I would like to start walking but enjoy the company as well,and being so out of shape would need someone that doesnt walk to fast , ok what day do you post your weight loss? and any good tips are greatly appreciated.

Welcome. I started on low carb but just couldn't stick to it. I'm calorie counting. We started on a Monday so I'm using Mondays as my way weigh in day.

I would like my goal to be eating healthy vs concentrating as much on the weight loss although the hope is that both will happen. When I don't eat well, I don't feel as good. Winter here makes it more difficult to want to move around. I need a way to redirect my stress to more healthy habits than eating.
