I have been doing ww's on and off since 1994. I have never been very committed. I decided last week to really try to make this work since I am giving them my money every month and I am at my highest weight in my life. I tracked ALL week! Everything I ate I recorded. I stayed within my points everyday. Today is weigh in day and I can't wait until I go tonight!

Well done!!! I was going to WW for a while but the expense was just too much. Now I'm tracking my calories on myfitnesspal.com (free). I think WW is a great program and if it was less expensive, I'd join!

I did WW for a while but stalled at losing 10lbs.
I started a protein diet yesterday. Replacing most meals with protein shakes and then I'm eating all the veggies I want. I'm trying to jump start myself - lose a quick few pounds to motivate myself. I know it's not a long term diet.

My wife wanted to lose some weight, and I was getting a little pudgy as well. She had done weight watchers before, but left the program early and didn't really succeed. This last time, things clicked. She lost 70 pounds, I lost 30. She's kept it off, I put back 10. This started 6 years ago. WW is NOT a diet. It is a lifestyle change. The cost to attend the meetings is really paying for your support group, just like AA or any drug addiction program. There's no special menu or meals, so your food expense can't be counted. It takes your body a while to adjust to any change, and for some, it takes their mind a while to catch up. It is the most healthy way to lose weight. Once you meet your goal, membership is free. I wouldn't recommend the on-line method without also going to the meetings for awhile. Sorry to be so long winded, but with our obese society, I firmly believe we need to make changes. A diet is a method of losing weight quickly, but there is a significant risk of putting it back on once you are "off" the diet. WW works because it is a long term solution. Wonder if I can get paid for this endorsement . . .

Its all about the tracking and being accountable for what we eat. I knew going in last night I was going to have a gain. 4 days at the beach and eating out was not good for me this time. I am OK with that and today is a new day!!!! The weeks I track I have great success and even if I over indulge I know the reason. Not only are veggies our friends so are fruits now..most are free!

I have been trying to maintain a large weightloss for about a year now. I'm a big fan of small meals and snacks. It's apple season!!:banana:

I eat some toast or cereal for breakfast, and like clockwork, I eat some fruit at 10:00 a.m. Yogurt and granola bar or some soup for lunch, and then if I'm hungry, a cheese stick or fruit at 3:00. If I'm hungry when I get home, I eat another cheese stick. I pretty much eat all day, but this plan is working.

Recently I had to do some traveling, but I ate my lunches on the road at Applebees. They have WW-friendly menu options. When I eat out I also opt for Subway Veggie Salad. I've maintained on those!!!

Good luck! And great on your recent loss! It's a marathon, not a sprint!

The eating of small meals all day is the way I do it-I just have to watch my calories. I faithfully work out but the calories are the key-and 300 eating a candy bar vs. 300 eating low sugar/high protein snack does make a difference in weight loss. Sugar just makes me bloated and want more sugar and stalls my loosing. I have gained recently and its my darn snacking! So, I am trying to really watch the calories.

One of the guys here in the fire house is on WW with his wife and he is down 15# already, and is not complaining of being hungry or short on energy. He says he really is having trouble eating all he is supposed to!!!!

It looks like a great plan, my weight is not to bad, only up 10-15# thanks to long term Prednisone, but was thinking about it for the nutritional balance and to try to keep off any more prednisone indused weight.

Good luck to you!!!!!
