Join Weight watchers on-line...tons of message board groups there for support that will fit ya. Easy on-line point counting, no weigh ins or meetings...just like this MB but for weight.

Been on it a month, and lost 18 lbs and like being able to have "bad days" as it is about the long haul and not just loosing some for the beach,etc.....and made several "friends", Dads in their 40's like me got kids, and are tired of being 5 steps behind them all the time and slowing them down.

Great SUPPORTIVE group!! The 10 days in OBX will be a challenage, more cause of the beach beverages than the food, although we got at least two seafood feasts planned.

Anyway the house has the net and you can bet my friends at WWO will be there with me.

I know all about that. Sometimes it's so hard to get motivated. I lost 4.5 pounds last week but this week I have been struggling to keep my calories around 1300-1400 for the day. I have been walking on the treadmill for 10 minutes 2xday and if I miss a day I'll quit. I'm one of those all or nothing people. I'm either on a diet or not lol. Let know me if there's anything I can do to help.

Coming here and poking me with a stick to make me move more would be a good idea. Getting me away from sitting here on this website and dreaming about being at the beach. Ah well, I hope to find the inspiration soon. My beach time is coming after Labor Day and I can't wait. We are hoping to start looking for a place to move to on Roanoke Island in order to make the transition to being a full timer soon.

Congratulations on your weight loss. This is actually inspirational for me. Keep me posted on your progress. Stay in good health.

Hey. I have recently started a journey to becoming a healthier person. I have a lot of weight to lose and staying motivated is the hardest part. I recently joined livestrong.com. It is a free calorie/weight/fitness tracker. I've tried calorie tracking before and just got overwhelmed, but this site makes it super easy! Nearly every food item by brand, company, and etc. is already in the database so it only takes about 20 minutes (if that) a day to track your calories. Also, you can enter your height, weight, and activity status and then select a weight loss goal (such as lose 1 pound a week or 2.5 pounds a week), and it will recommend how many calories you should stay under to meet your goal. Also, as you track your weight, it will factor that in and readjust daily so you are always staying under what you should. I know this isn't really a buddy or anything, but it has been working WONDERS for me because you can add friends or make your food diary public, and those days I go crazy and splurge on DQ Blizzards or candy bars, I know I have to answer to my livestrong so it's a good way to check yourself. It will also calculate how many calories you burn from doing different activities such as light stretching or general dancing. I have already lost 8 pounds and I feel great! I have been making sure I use this tool every day.

Im in...This pelican gal is going to not avoid pictures this summer...Started WW online this week and have been on 4 days now...love the online format, no group meetings, and the platform is very inviting and reinforcing. Key is support from the people you live with. We are all using the phrase "How many points is it??"...Been staying in my point range, but so cold here no exercise...Will have to develop an indoor routine. Took the pilates chair out to the garage months ago...Only challenge I see is that I LOVE BEER! Beer Beer Beer

Husband and I play poker every Friday and are big football fans (College and Pro) so our time spent in our local roadhouse down the street is posting a mathematical challenge for me... Points for eating or drinking??? I have found that a bottle of water on the bar with the cold and yummy draft beer helps to keep down those points...Well enough rambling...I'll be sure to check back here when im logging my points online..Good Luck everyone!!!

Good luck. Since the holidays are over I'm doing alot better. I have really been watching my calories and eating 3 meals a day. I'm losing slowly usually 1-2 pounds a week but I'm not gaining so I'm not complaining. Seems like it takes no time put weight on and forever to get it off.

Survived First Friday...Kept within my points all week so was able to use my additional "weekly points" for my Beer .
I have a new "trick"...put pennies in left pocket for my calculated allowance and each beer transferred a penny to the right pocket of jeans...Bottle of water and my friend Kelly the bartender kept me on track...lost 3 pounds this week so hopefully im on a roll...Good Luck everyone!

Hi ladies just wanted to say count me in. I just joined this forum today, been counting calories this week and doing well so far. My two big downfalls are Mt. Dew and the temptation to snack late at night while I'm up making my art. My goal is to drop 15 pounds by our trip to Avon the third week of May.

Thanks! Week one is over and I did pretty well, except for McD's yesterday. I think I'm gonna buy a new swimsuit and hang it in the kichen with a countdown to our trip in May.

Can I join in too?
I joined WW in December and I really would like to get back to where I was last summer and continue to get to my goal weight. I had a little trouble over the holidays, but I am back on track now and since we booked our house the other day I am really focused, LOL!

Count me in too. I've been unable to stick to anything for the last five years and it shows. I've committed this year to get back into the pictures too! I've exercised everyday this week so far and I'm doing pretty good eating wise.

Well ladies I got a scale yesterday and weighed in at 135. I'm 5' 1" and my doc says I should be 115-120, so that's my goal by our trip in May. Anyone else have a specific goal in mind?

Me! I am shooting for 145. I am 5'6" and my doctor told me anything under 155 was acceptable. I told my WW leader my goal was 150. I am currently 167 (gasp!)so I am looking at about 20 pounds to go. I think 20 pounds is doable for me by summer if I put my mind to it.

Also when I started losing weight 2 years ago I weighed over 200, so I am pretty proud of how far I have come. I never had a weight problem growing up, but have struggled with my weight since I got married and had kids. I keep getting in the 160's and then going back up and down 10 pounds. But that is all behind me now and I am moving towrds a goal. I never actually set a goal before, so I am excited about that.

Hey Ladies! Glad to see the WW comments. I'm a lifetime member but had to return to drop 22 lbs last year. I too love the website but also enjoy the meetings. I have to say that dropping the 20+ was much slower than I imagined. But, I stuck with it. I did back slide a few pounds over the Holidays but am back on track. True to form its coming off slowly. My challenge like others is the exercise. With the short days and cold temps walking outside is not a regular event. I have equipment in my basement but I need to be "poked" to use it. I'll report in within a few days to tell you all that I have been on my exercise bike. Anyone else out there who can report on their activities?

Same here about the cold. It got really windy over the weekend and I just couldn't bring myself to jog. I have an elliptical in the basement...it's not horrible but I really need to be poked as well....BORING.
