Does anyone have info on oceanfront cottages in Salvo (approx 1st street past the Fishin Hole)? We are supposed to come down from NY on 10/1 and stay in Kill Devil Hills (Quality Inn John Yancey MP 9.5 HWY 12)until 10/4 then Ocean Perch in Salvo until 10/11. No luck with the realtors or reaching the hotel yet- We would appreciate any info on both places Thanks!!

Kelly, my brother owns the Fishin Hole now and he tells me that the area dodged the storm well. He evacuated, but called other residents via cell.

He's heard that the worst that happened was wind damage. The Blue Whale lost some gas pumps, but that was about it.

I'm supposed to drive down there from CT on 9/25 and work in the Fishin Hole until 10/3. I'm sorry I won't get to meet you!

But do stop in and check out The Fishin Hole. One of the things I like best about my brother, Mike Jackson, is that he genuinely cares about his customers. He won't BS you. And he'll hook you up right for fishing, beach gear, and the best beer prices in the area. And if you're into wine, Mike's a pro and has a really good selection.

I didn't mean for that to sound like an ad. I really do believe in my brother, and his business. You're lucky I won't be there. This landlubber would find a way to sell you a mullet, or at least point you towards a good restaurant. AND get you back again the next day to tell me all about it!

Have a great time on your vacation.

Hey Lynn,
I am a regular customer of your brother's Fishin Hole when I come down there, and I am suppose to come down Oct. 4th as well. What about driving down Rt 12? I hear there is a new inlet near the tiki bar that would require a bridge to be built? I am coming down from DC. Also, do you know if we will be able to fish off of the Rodanthe Pier then? Any info will be helpful.

Julie
