Associated Press is moving aerial photos of Hatteras and Buxton. Lots of flooding in Buxton and much structural damage in Hatteras. The site were the inlet opened, the road is just going into the water. There is a pic of a bulldozer clearing Hwy. 12 in Hatteras. You can't even tell where the road is because there is so much sand. Another photo shows a house just sitting in what I assume is the sound. All you can see is the roof.

I work at a newspaper in Ohio and have access to the AP news wire that we subscribe to. AP has a website but I don't see any of those same photos on that: www.ap.org -- but you can look. Maybe I missed them. Sorry.
