With out putting your self in danger could someone please take a look at the 3 houses that sit ocean front mine was the one to the south. I know it's just a rental but my family has such great memories there. My heart is breaking has I see the damage there, my thoughts and prayers go out to all!!!

I know, we have a rental that we've gone to several times now on MP 17.8 - Dune Haven...we're all worried about it. Has anyone heard anything else about that area of Nags Head? What about nearby restaraunts, like Sam and Omie's? And I've seen pictures of damage from Manteo, too, which is a favorite.

Is it a 2 story yellow house there are 2 of these houses next to each other? I saw them on the yahoo site one of the house is down completely!! I'm tired of looking at the photos of distruction I could just cry, my heart aches for this area that I've become so attached too.

We've stayed at Dune Haven several times also. I've compared my own photos with the Yahoo photo you mentioned and I'm convinced that it was not Dune Haven or the other yellow house next to it. Harvest is the next street to the north and I have no personal photos of the houses there, so I can't say. The Yahoo photos from South Nags Head are horrible and I suspect some of them are indeed from the MP 17.5-18 area given the view of the OBX pier in one photo. The pier appears to have 2 major gaps in it! As an avid OBX vacationer, it makes my feel sick -- but I really worry about the good owners of all those properties.
