I have a question for anyone with a cell phone because when I was down in 11/02 my Nextel phone doesn't have a signal.

I was wondering if anyone with a Nextel phone can get a signal down on the OBX? My Nextel contract expires in October and I am thinking of changing service to a plan that has a signal down there so I can access my cell phone while on vacation. Thanks

Sprint PCS works well there. I'm not sure about Nextel.

I have Alltel and last year I had really good service. We will be there this week in Duck (for a change) and I will let you know when we get back how it was. Two or three years ago the service was really poor in Nags Head area but I didn't have any problems at all last year.

My niece and her husband have Nextel and when they were down with us in June they didn't seem to have a problem. I know they received and made calls. We were in Kitty Hawk. My husband, son and myself all have Verizon and have had no problem making or receiving calls. We are currenty in South Nags Head.

Alltel is a good bet anywhere in the Southeast. I get a strong signal everywhere I've been on the Banks. I wouldn't use Sprint if it was free.
