Delmarva Must Stop

If your route to OBX takes you on US 13 down the Delmarva there is a food stop you should make. It has been a tradition on our annual trip from NJ to OBX for the last 15 years to stop for lunch at a little BBQ place called Formys. It is a few miles south of a small town named Exmore, in VA.

They have awesome pulled pork and great hushpuppys. Their BBQ chicken sandwich is also wonderful. (FYI: Formys sauce is vinegar based). I strongly recommend anyone who enjoys BBQ to give Formys a try. I don't believe you will be disappointed. FYI: this is not a fast food stop, and it will take a little time for them to prepare your sandwiches. Around 10-15 minutes.

Speaking of BBQ, if your down in Frisco, go directly to Bubba's. BTW, the Bubba's in Avon is no where as good as Frisco.

If anyone is on there way to OBX and happens to be on US 1 in Fredricksburg, VA one of the best barbecues yoou will ever eat is at Allman's. Allman's Bar-b-q has been in business since the 1950's and is also apple cider vinegar based, and if you want a dessert a great ice cream cone or shake at Carl's which was featured in the PBS documentary called "The Ice Cream Show".

Hey Martha.....you do standup? ;)

Delmarva is not a person, Delmarva is a geographical placename (The Delmarva Peninsula)for that piece of land on the east coast of the United States is occupied by portions of three states, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia (hence the name Del Mar Va). It is bordered by the Chesapeake Bay on the west, the Delaware River, Delaware Bay, and the Atlantic Ocean on the east. Its northern isthmus is cut by the Chesapeake Delaware Canal. Bridges across the canal and the Chesapeake and a tunnel at the southern tip join the peninsula to the mainland. Dover, the capital of Delaware, is in the northeast corner, but the commercial center is Salisbury, Maryland, in the southern half.

A good job.

I do alot of research on the WWW and I keep this site minimized. Every now and then during the day I check in. Being the boss helps a little too. ;)
