This was taken in Spring of 2002 while it was being built. Current one to follow.

Well not exactly TODAY- but last week. That's Pine Island private airstrip behind it. There is a shipwreck just off the beach opposite the south end of the airstrip which I could see from the air. Gary, did you by chance see it from the beach? I heard it might be good diving/snorkeling.

Thanks Kim, I always love the Aerial pictures. No I did not see the shipwreck. Had no idea it was even there.

Kimco, Is the shipwreck in your photo? My eye's must be going cause I don't see it. I think the left side of the picture is South. I do see s dark spot off shore, but it is more toward the middle of the runway.

Can you see many shipwrecks from the air? Any pictures?

The shipwreck is actually right off the beach just maybe 20-30 yards at the very left edge of this pic, and you probably can't make it out. I have more pics that I took with my 35 mm Nikon in the shop that will probably show more and will post next week, if so. The dot you are seeing mid-field of the airstrip is actually fish! A great big blob of "fatbacks" in a school! Don't see shipwrecks often. I only saw this one cause the fellow riding with me showed it to me. According to him it went down in the late 1800's!
