Currituck is “recommending” folks vacationing in the 4 wheel drive area depart as the beach will likely be impassible. But they specifically say it’s not an evacuation.
Which means if people depart and have trip insurance it likely won’t reimburse since it isn’t an evacuation order.

Omg the comments I have seen from tourists just planning to have fun in a couple of days in other sites. Like another poster said these are the people that get stuck in rip currents.

It will be difficult to navigate the beach in the 4X4 even at low tide. Good luck every vacationer up there as help will not be on the way.
