First time in OBX to experience this weeks weather and wondering, from those with prior experience, the impact in Duck on Rte 12. Scheduled to leave Thursday but thinking of heading out Wednesday for Virginia Beach to avoid possible road closure. Any thoughts are appreciated.

In my personal opinion always leave early and go inland farther than Virginia Beach area unless you own a home there I guess. I have always followed the storms and 12 gets hammered too much south and north routes. Protect yourself because no one else really will if you get stranded without a road or boat to leave.

If you are speaking of overwash from the storm, on route 12, in Duck and Southern Shores, that is not something you need to worry about.
