I think "Village" here pertains to Village at Nags Head as that's the neighborhood there. CLUBCORP GOLF OF NORTH CAROLINA LLC was the previous owner. I have no idea when it went up for sale.

No, The Village Beach Club is in Nags Head. The Outer Banks Beach Club is in KDH near Bonzer Shack.

According to one of the comments on the Voice article, the club sits on 3.7+ acres. The picture below is of the house that was on the 1.2 acre lot where SAGA built 14 houses. Is there anything to keep SAGA from tearing down the Village Beach Club and building 43 houses?

I did a Google lens search on that last image that I posted and I came up with this link.

Click to follow link...

It looks like after SAGA bought the 1.2 acre lot they had it on the market for 2.55 million.

Going to play Devil's Advocate on this one. But wouldn't that ultimately be better for the Town of Nags Head?

Tax base would go up because they are new homes.

Less people to support via Medical, Fire, Ambulance, and Police. And less poopie too.

The KDH council needs some blame because they allowed the "cottage court" to be built by SAGA. The 14 homes is called The Tides and it is built on land that has access to a sewer system there. This is also why there are so many 20+ bed homes in KDH. They have access to that private sewer system and so they don't need septic systems.

Luckily Nags Head does not allow huge homes to be built, unlike KDH, and the private sewer does not go into Nags Head.

How would 43 houses replacing a beach club equal less people?

The Village Beach Club is in the Village Of Nags Head subdivision. Those owners can join the beach club and then they can use the facilities there. The Village has a shuttle that takes members from the west side of the bypass to the Beach Club. Most home owners in the Village that rent their house belongs to the Beach Club, their guests require it. There is a huge pool, snack bar, tennis, games and more in the Beach Club.

I am wondering if SAGA is going to make improvements and charge more than they do today.

This "row" house pic reminds me of some type of alley way. Very unattractive. Pack 'em in and count your money. Wow. Cannot believe it is allowed.

Exactly. No way a renter can hear the ocean or the winds. Too much like Myrtle Beach. Quaintness is a yesterday's thing long gone.

It is called a "Cottage Court" by SAGA and the town of KDH ok'ed it. To call that a "cottage court" is beyond a joke. It is on a private sewer system there in KDH so no septic needed.

Around here they call it "new urbanist". These pics are from Rocketts Landing a few miles SE of Richmond on the James River. The trees across from the buildings are part of the big train yard and the big tanks on one end of the ongoing development are, well, a tank farm. They are on the Capital Trail bike trail.and they do have some boat slips.

At the far end of the last pic, past the crane, is a tank farm. The trees along the road were part of a huge rail yard, but they've sold off the good property for development.
