Just now....after clicking a hundred times trying to grab a shot of the lightening show outside right now. Lots of thunder and lightening. This is lightening and not the sun.

Nice show!!!!! I coulda' gotten struck! Oh well....anything for something pretty I say.

This one lit up the outside! Makes it look like day.

Beautiful shots, but I would not be outside during a lightening show like that.

I missed the evening lightning show, but the one around 5pm was a boomer. I heard of a couple lightning strikes to homes north of me in Kitty.

Cause your mama didn't raise no dummy.

You'd be blown away by the number of folks, typically a single guy (for example, just last night) crunched into a beach chair, fishing rig planted into the sand, alternating between cig puffs and pulls off a 40oz beverage....all while bolts are dancing everywhere (the kind that are so close you "smell" them and your arm hairs are at attention).

Pretty much death wishing...

You guys up north have been getting pounded - almost every afternoon this week the view to the north has been "run toto run" black clouds...HI has been somewhat spared, but yesterday was a doozy for us

Oh....I came into the house for the last two when things were getting closer and took them from the living room!

The first two shots were right after sunset and much further away and the last two I caught up until almost 10 pm when things were really bad and it was a REAL show.

Thanks for your concern, though. I'm dumb, but not that dumb!!

ETA: my fault for the stupid rhetoric.

We had 3 strikes that were 500'+- from our home. Too close in my comfort zone for me. Cloud USA Flag

Lifeguards in MD and DE flat out tell you 'stay on the beach if you want to, but if you need resuscitation, we'll come help 30 minutes after the thunder stops'.

Basically, you're SOL.

Last night about 6pm the lightning was heavy heavy in the KDH and Kitty Hawk areas. I got over an inch of rain and the lightning was everywhere. A house at 1721 Bay Dr was hit and caught fire. That was just 3 houses away from my step daughters house. It was unbelievably loud and I am about 2 miles away.
