Great post, Kwelty. I love digging into dialects within the US and have found YouTube (not the TV channel) streaming a wealth of info on the Ocracoke dialect on a few shows they have streamed. So very interesting. I love that it still exists but sadly not long for this island. We are totally a melting pot of immigrants and the history is fascinating.

Although Barry Austin no longer does concrete on the Island if you find him on Ocracoke he uses all of those words.
