Just saw there was a fire at Pirates Cove Marina today. Does anyone know what the boat name was that caught fire and any details?

Hope there were no injuries and the fire was minimal.

Thank you for this information-much appreciated.

Sad to see this boat was so damaged but hopefully there were no injuries.

When I took a USCG boating safety course the students were lectured on the penalties of spilling even the smallest amounts of oil, fuel, or any pollutants into the water. Does the boat owner or insurance company pay for the cleanup & penalties? Or was it just saber rattling by the USCG authorities to we students? USA Flag

If your boat is an inboard gas, we're all taught to open the hatches and run the bilge blower. That will purge any gas fumes out of the bilge before you start the engine. I have an old Penn Yan inboard. I make sure I do this before every start.

This problem with gas boats is a big reason people prefer diesel engines, they don't have this problem. But diesels are more expensive.

If the boat still floats it can be rebuilt.
I heard the Cybertruck that burned in Las Vegas is to be rebuilt. I can see the Carfax on it now "minor damages" & "airbags did not deploy". Wink smiley USA Flag
