Good for you Tim! Maybe then you won't care as much about NRPO's coming to invade...

Maybe go out to a sit in restaurant. I went in 5 times last year and 2 were before the shut down occurred.

I hope everyone gets the vaccine and we can get back to some semblance of normalcy. Sooner rather than later!

I think you should hold off on that until about three weeks after you get your second dose.

Congrats, though smiley

I heard back in about 3-4 days and the date was 5 days from the call. Get on the list.

I have a pretty good source for info from the County level and I was told the county agreed to vaccinate NRPO's to alleviate the load in other areas not as able to handle it. In return the state is giving our area a bit more to help with that. Seems like a good agreement for the area.

I registered Susi and me on the darenc website. We received a call the next day and are scheduled for our first shot on Thursday morning. So, maybe in two months, I will be playing Pickleball again even though it will probably still be with a mask on.

I had my shot last Saturday. No side effects except for a sore upper arm for 36 hours. Movement and self-massage helped to dissipate the soreness. No Tylenol necessary.

I have some Jack Daniels ready for any discomfort and I expect some discomfort both before and after the shot.

OK, I'm busted.. I, too, used the same therapy as you. It is a good Rx.

Just a note. The inoculations are given into the muscle on your upper arm, not into a vein. This is the same way tetanus shots are administered. I have found that if you flex your bicep after the shot, for maybe 30-45 minutes on and off, the soreness will be dramatically decreased. Take a five pond bar bell with you and do curls for a little while and it will help the next day. Learned this the hard way back in the day, at Bethesda Naval Hospital, now WRNMC.
I hope this helps and some of you report back!

I am due for my second one next Thursday. Of the 20 or so people that I know that got their second shot 1/8 all but two of them had reactions lasting from 12-36 hours, ranging from just extreme fatigue, to chills and body aches with the ensuing fatigue. No reported fevers or respiratory symptoms. Since these were day 1 folks, they all got pfizer (just what was shipped to the hospital initially) By the time I got mine it was moderna; don't know if that makes any difference.

It has me a bit freaked; I know I am get the second one; I just may wait until Monday and plan a day off Tuesday so I don't ruin my weekend Big grin

No can do on the flexing. It's already hard to keep all the women away. If I start flexing it'll be impossible! Laughing smiley Laughing smiley Laughing smiley

I kid, I kid.

I'll give it a shot (ha!) when I get the shots. Might have to find something a little lighter than 5 pounds though. That just seems like a lot of work. I'm thinking more in the 12oz range... Big grin

Hahaha!
I bet you don't have a stud finder in your tool box either! The darned thing would keep going off until the batteries were dead!

I had my first one on the 15th...just more tired than usual. my coworkers reported sore arms more than usual after a shot, bad headaches and 1 coworker with a very high fever the next day only. no one missed work. The patients had 1 with severe vomiting and another with shortness of breath after the vaccine. vomiting lasted 1 day.

I'll look for a pond ball - maybe like a beach ball?

Thanks for the tip. I can't remember when the last muscle shot in the arm I got, long time ago. Tetanus maybe. I remember the gamma globulin shot in the butt in 2002. Sad smiley

I got my old folks pneumonia and part one shingles vaccination a few months ago. Since I'm right handed I thought it best to get the shots in my left arm. That was a terrible mistake since I sleep on my left side.

Why is the 2nd shot worse than the 1st? Is there something different about the amount of meds or what? Does anyone know? I get my 2nd shot on Thursday so I guess I will find out.

That was pretty easy. 30 min total from when I walked in until I left and you had to wait 15 after the shot to leave. Very well organized and another appt in 30 days. I hardly felt it and it took 3 seconds at the most. Embaressed smiley
