Outer Beaches Payment Plan

We have been renting from Outer Beaches for 30 years. I am an old woman with limited internet skills. I check my email rarely, but today I did happen to check it and found one from Outer Beaches informing me they are changing their reservation system and my monthly payment needs to be updated, or my ongoing monthly payments will cease.

No bigee -I will call them and update- this is just public service announcement for any others who utilize the service and may not check their email.

The world moves forward and I fall further and further behind.

Nowadays, folks don't answer their phone, listen to voicemails, or check their mailbox for days. Email is probably the best chance you have to communicate with them.

^ This. I don't check mail for days which drives my wife crazy. It's all junk except for the occasional card, jury summons, or the IRS having a disagreement with me. There's an elderly couple a few houses up from us in Nags Head. They are long since retired and come to the beach for many weeks on end throughout the off season. On multiple occasions they had to return home to pay bills! Serious smiley I felt like throwing them a bone about setting up online banking and electronic everything then they could just stay at the beach vs. driving back to Boston, but they're up there and I doubt would take to the new way.

Kai, Since you use Outer Beaches I'll ask you this question. What is a Home Service Fee??????? It's only $55 but I can't find any explanation of what it is about.

I just received an email from OBR regarding their Black Friday special, beginning today, offering a 10% discount on booking

Well, I'll be dipped - although I am sure I saw line item charges when I signed the contract, but the livestay website doesn't allow me to go back in and re-review (guestweb did) I can only see the roll up. And the roll up charge is just about $45 more than the actual rent - and since I did get travel insurance that looks right. I don't think I was charged either of those two charges.

But you are right - trying to get that information off their website and/or livestay was impossible.

Found it! It's a fee to "help offset cleaning costs". Why don't they just call it that?

Why don't you just call the PM and ask them what those two fees are for???
