I've been using a CPAP for over five years. Does anyone here use or have wisdom they can share on the cleaning machines like SoClean? I'm thinking about buying one.

I've been looking at these to. The SoClean is a little expensive though. There are a lot of different ozone generating CPAP cleaning machines on Amazon with good ratings running anywhere from $44 up to almost $400. I've been cleaning mine the old fashioned way for 7 years but just got a new machine at the end of September. Maybe someone here has one of these cleaners and will comment.

I've been wondering the same thing about getting a machine to clean mine. Unfortunately it seems like the only people posting have the same questions, but no answers.

Thanks for the replies rpemers & fredneckians, Today I ordered one directly from SoClean. List price was $398.00 minus a discount they were offering of $120.00. With NC sales tax it ended up costing me $296.77. I had become really bad about cleaning my CPAP so I bit the bullet.

Nice. I also bought one on Amazon the other end of the money spectrum for $78.50. It's a very solid unit with good reviews and cleans the same way as the SoClean product does, with ozone,. Link below.

It came with a mask bag and two adapters. It powers from a standard cell phone type charger and an internal battery so it is portable as well. It's about the size of cell phone and about an inch and a half thick. I cleaned my mask and cpap unit in about 50 minutes. Works very nicely so far.

I've had my SoClean for one month. The SoClean ads I've seen make the process appear like you just drop in the mask and you're good to go. It's not complicated just a bit more involved.

My CPAP has a humidifier chamber. The SoClean requires replacement of the humidifier chamber cover with one they supply so a tube (black) can feed ozone into the CPAP for circulation back to the SoClean via the mask hose (not shown) to the mask. The first cleaning I noticed a very faint odor from the cleaning process. Emptying & refilling the water chamber with fresh distilled water eliminates 99% of the odor. I haven't timed the cleaning cycle, I think its about 2 hours.

I've been using a CPAP machine for 10 years now. I've never had any issues getting sick from one. The are easy to clean and take about 10 minutes a week. I used white vinegar in the hose, mask and water tank

According to my husband, the SoClean is fantastic. It has really cut down on the number of respiratory issues (colds) and he uses his daily. It is much easier than manual cleaning- so he says.

10+ year CPAP user here. Having passed 65, I switched to Medicare and they required a new sleep study to continue providing supplies. While picking up my shiny new RedMed I asked the nurse about the cleaning systems. She said that the manufacturers do not recommend them. The ozone and other "cleaning methods" will wear out the pump's seals prematurely.
I have only ever done cursory cleaning to my mask and hose and have never had an issue. Maybe the prospect of spending a day with me scared the germs away! I don't know. I did quit using the humidifier two months after I started using the CPAP. That may/is also a factor. Germs like the moisture.

I’ve used the same Resmed CPAP machine from 2009 until October 2019. I stopped using the humidifier early on, never cleaned anything, and never had a problem. When I got a new machine in October I started using the humidifier and bought a SoClean. For me, using or not using the humidifier doesn’t make much difference but I do like the SoClean. I just stick the mask in in the morning and take it out when I am ready for bed. It also has the advantage of keeping it away from the dog who is not above chewing up a mask.
