I’m definitely not a snake lover but this one is pretty cool looking. A friend staying at our house in Corolla saw this guy in the brush near our pier. Pretty sure it’s a Rough Green Snake.

I had one that look like that as a pet growing up. Very pretty snake. He was very calm and would let you hold him all day. We'd put him up on the chain above the dining room light and he'd climb up and sit there for hours. When my parents had people over we tell them to look up and there he'd be, just hanging out. We didn't have many people that came over more than one time for some reason... smiley

My Dad built him/her (the snake's name was Ralph) a huge screened it cage. Took up almost half of one of my walls. I'd feed him crickets. He lived for a good 5 years I think. There was one design flaw with his cage. It was screened in which kept everything in the cage, but the crickets would mate and the babies were small enough to get through the screen. I heard crickets in my walls for a long time after Ralph was gone...

I saw one just like it last year on the walkway to the beach in Ocean Sands Section A. Pretty thing!
