Outdoor shower and hot tub idea planning

Outdoor shower and hot tub idea planning

I’m old! I’ve had numerous outdoor shower stalls at my different homes but I’m finally settled and want a bit more of an upscale outdoor shower and perhaps a hot tub/soaking tub or even some sort of a tiny pool deal. My bones feel so much better after an Epsom salt soak in warm water.

Show me your outdoor showers please!

Hmmm

RE: Outdoor shower and hot tub idea planning

This isn’t mine but I’ve bought all the parts and pieces from the plumbing store and have an old surfboard. I’m ready to go once I get time.

RE: Outdoor shower and hot tub idea planning

Normally I wouldn’t care about how visible my outdoor shower is, but my southside neighbors are LDS and watch my every move. Of course there’s always bamboo roll shades and landscape planting’s...

RE: Outdoor shower and hot tub idea planning

Okay, I had to look it up, is LDS = Latter-day Saints??

RE: Outdoor shower and hot tub idea planning

My wife's in SLC for work right now. She said that NOBODY crosses the street until the crosswalk sign says it's o.k. Not what someone from New York and Boston is used to.

She was on a flight back a few weeks ago and was talking with a woman next to her. She mentioned church and coffee hour. The woman said, "you're not from here, are you? You don't hear 'church' and 'coffee hour' together." Theeth smiley

She had dinner with a friend last time she was out. The friend said that her family wasn't happy when she announced she was getting married, as he's Muslim. Nan mentioned that her parents certainly weren't thrilled with me. Theeth smiley

Yes. And they have cameras pointing towards my place. The spot I’m interested in faces south and west where we share a fence line. When I first moved here I was talking to them about a blueberry vineyard with a wine tasting room/shop nearby. When I commented that the wine wasn’t good, she crinkled up her nose and said she didn’t like wine. Later on their grandkids informed me they’re all LDS. So of course now I like nothing better than to sit on my front porch with a glass of wine! Lol

RE: Outdoor shower and hot tub idea planning

My wife doesn't like wine either. Doesn't like the taste of alcohol at all. She'll take a sip of wine and make a face. She's also Methodist, and they historically didn't consume alcohol. Current position is " judicious use with deliberate and intentional restraint."

We Catholics make up for the alcohol Methodists don't drink. Theeth smiley

RE: Outdoor shower and hot tub idea planning

Us Presbyterians keep a 1.5 liter in the church kitchens fridge for emergencies! And the Episcopalians are no slouches either.

Cheers

If my neighbor had cameras on my house/yard, man-o-man what fun I'd have with them. The things those cameras would capture...

As far as the open outdoor shower goes, I wouldn't mind it at all, but I'm pretty sure my neighbors would object after my first shower. Big grin

RE: Outdoor shower and hot tub idea planning

Actually, I would feel more secure if my neighbor's had a camera pointed directly at my house. But that's just me.

It doesn’t bother me at all, I suspect it’s a good idea to assume that your actions are being broadcast anyway nowadays. I was just now enjoying my steaming cup of java out in the front yard whilst feeding horses. It’s hilarious that LDS is perhaps finally relaxing a bit about caffeine! Maybe in the future I can round up a few men to come over and hot tub with me...

That's funny......the reaction would be priceless Serious smiley

Gat a pair of these ….. And set that camera on fire! LOL

RE: Outdoor shower and hot tub idea planning

Little surprised about the LDS comments. I have family members who belong. They do not drink coffee or alcohol but have never tried to "enlighten" me to their beliefs. Have you heard of tolerance?

RE: Outdoor shower and hot tub idea planning

I’ve got no problem with people’s religion and how they practice it, banning this or that. If it suits them, that’s just fine.
However, hoi mentioned early on that they “watch her every move.” That I find creepy

RE: Outdoor shower and hot tub idea planning

My comment is on the post below, it was above...anyway.....never to be discussed in an open forum: Religion, politics, and the Great Pumpkin...

RE: Outdoor shower and hot tub idea planning

I’ve posted ours a few times before. Nice size at 13 x 7 and it has separate shower and dressing areas along with built-in benches. It is wired into our low voltage light system so it always has a light on when it’s dark. It’s below sea level so it fills up with water during heavy rains or when the sand is saturated from over wash coming down from the pier/Ocean Drive area. The saloon style swinging doors are pretty cool as well.
