Two spring trips

Two spring trips

Lucky enough to make two trips down to Kitty Hawk recently. We enjoy staying at milepost 1 Hilton Garden Inn and are delighted that the repairs and improvements of the KH Pier there are finished. We enjoyed walks on the pier and beach, rocking in rockers by the courtyard fire pit, relaxing on a sunny warm beach, yummy lunch and dinners at Coastal Provisions, Pier House Easter Sunrise Worship Service and beautiful Easter Brunch at Aqua in Duck. Hope you like these pics.

Bill

Yes Bill, the pier use is free for hotel guests. I believe you can also pay to fish or stroll. IMHO the Hilton has been a good steward to the KH pier.

RE: Two spring trips

Thank you all for the kind comments. It's never easy leaving but the memories are precious. We picked up delicious fresh tuna steaks and scallops in Jarvisburg on the way home. St. Patty's long weekend traffic was easy, Easter long weekend traffic was very busy. Hope y'all can make your next Banks trip soon Sun

Thanks, I have reservations there next Friday Saturday and Sunday

RE: Two spring trips

Just came back from a great weekend stay at the Hilton Garden Inn.

I highly suggest it for location and overall as a nice Hotel.

Arrived Friday at around 5:30 and left Sunday at 12 Noon.

Did a ton in a short period time. I got my much needed beach fix.

RE: Two spring trips

Nice photos Tilly.....sounds as if you had a great time. Did you walk across the street to the Rundown?

RE: Two spring trips

Bill - Glad y'all found the HGI comfy, you picked a nice weekend. Hope you got to relax on the beach Sun

Robert - Thank you for your kind reply. We didn't do Rundown during our recent trips, good food for sure. There are just so many good dining spots to enjoy these days.

One more MP1 sunrise pic, this one was from a fall trip.

Love and miss this pier, was once the best pier on the northern beaches for drum fishing. Looks like the new owners are treating her well Thumbs up

I miss the way it was too. The old pilings are still visible from before the end of the pier was removed by hurricane (was it Isabel.) The breakfast in the old pier house restaurant was so good. Not sure how the fishing is there now Fish Fish
